A Guide to Allocating Your Wedding Budget for the Perfect Destination Celebration!

Planning a destination wedding can feel overwhelming at first. You’re coordinating travel, organizing guests, choosing a resort, and trusting that everything will come together perfectly once you arrive in paradise. That is exactly why Kaley and Trey decided to partner with Making Memories by Morgan for their wedding at Secrets Maroma Beach.
Meet Kaley & Trey- Some weddings just feel special from the very beginning, and Kaley and Trey’s was one of those.
Their beautiful celebration at Secrets Maroma Beach was not only incredibly elegant, it also held a personal milestone for me. Kaley and Trey were my very first destination wedding couple who came from a referral rather than being existing clients, which made the experience even more meaningful.
And let me tell you… their wedding photos? Absolutely stunning. Every single one looked like it belonged in a magazine. Choosing which images to include in this blog was nearly impossible.
But beyond the gorgeous setting and model worthy photos, what made their wedding truly special was the calm, joyful energy they brought to the entire week.
Here’s a peek into their destination wedding journey—and their honest answers to what the experience was really like.

When couples start searching for the perfect destination wedding resort in Mexico, Secrets Maroma Beach often rises to the top of the list. Known for its stunning white sand beach, romantic atmosphere, and luxurious all inclusive experience, it is easy to see why so many couples choose this beautiful Riviera Maya resort for their wedding celebration.
For Kaley and Trey, Secrets Maroma Beach was the perfect place to gather their closest friends and family for an unforgettable destination wedding week. From relaxing beach days to a picture perfect wedding day that looked straight out of a magazine, their celebration was everything they had hoped for and more.

For Kaley and Trey, the appeal of a destination wedding was simple.
They loved the idea of having everything in one place.
An all inclusive resort meant they could celebrate with their favorite people while also seamlessly transitioning into their honeymoon without needing to travel anywhere else.
It created a full wedding experience rather than just one single day.
And honestly, that is one of the biggest reasons couples choose destination weddings in the first place. Instead of a few hours together, you get an entire week of shared memories in paradise.
Like many couples, Kaley and Trey are planners.
They were used to organizing things down to the smallest detail, so naturally their biggest concern was whether everything would run according to schedule once they arrived at the resort.
As Kaley later shared, that fear turned out to be completely unfounded.
Once they arrived, everything flowed exactly as it should have.
One of the biggest benefits of having a destination wedding at an all inclusive resort is that there is an experienced team managing the logistics behind the scenes. When couples allow themselves to trust the process, they’re able to actually enjoy their wedding week instead of worrying about it.
When I asked Kaley and Trey what stood out the most, their answer perfectly captured the allure of destination weddings.
Their favorite moment was simply being surrounded by their closest people in one beautiful place at the same time.
There is something incredibly special about bringing together family and friends from different parts of your life and sharing a full week of celebrations, dinners, beach days, and late night conversations.
Those are the memories that last long after the wedding day is over.

Not a single thing.
They told me everything went exactly as it should have.
And honestly, that is always the goal. A wedding day that feels effortless, joyful, and exactly right for the couple.
Kaley and Trey had one piece of advice for couples who are just beginning the destination wedding planning process: “Don’t worry, Morgan has it all under control. It will be better than you can imagine in the beginning, so stay calm and work through the process a step at a time.”
Reading that still makes me smile!!!
Planning a destination wedding can feel overwhelming at first, especially if you have never done it before. But when you break it down step by step, the process becomes far more manageable and actually really fun.
Kaley and Trey’s guests had an incredible time at the wedding.
Many of them shared how much they loved the resort and how easy the entire travel process felt. One thing that stood out to the couple was that guests who were initially concerned about the cost ended up feeling completely comfortable once everything was explained and organized.
And the feedback that meant the most to me?
Several guests told them they planned to refer friends in the future, which is the highest compliment I could ever receive.
When I asked Kaley and Trey how they would describe working together, their response truly meant the world to me.
They shared that Making Memories by Morgan turned what is often a stressful and time consuming process into a collaborative experience that ultimately gave them the wedding of their dreams.
They also mentioned something that I focus heavily on behind the scenes. Managing the guest travel experience so the couple never has to worry about it.
Destination weddings involve a lot of moving parts. Flights, transfers, room reservations, questions from guests, and more. My goal is always to take that responsibility off the couple’s plate so they can focus on celebrating.
Kaley described it best when she said working with me was the single best investment they made during the planning process.
Kaley and Trey, thank you again for trusting me with such an important moment in your lives. Your wedding was truly beautiful, and I will always be cheering you on as you continue your journey together.
Wishing you a lifetime of love, laughter, and many more beach vacations together.
